Critical Care Nursing Course to be held from October 27-November 1, 2008.

Registration
Fee: Rs. 4000 per participant
Registration will be done on first come first serve basis as the course has limited seats available. Last date for registration is October 15, 2008.
The registration fee includes: comprehensive handouts on all modules; tea and lunch; course certificate; and individual mentorship on clinical.

Course Outline
The salient features of the course include:
- Comprehensive modular theory classes
- Clinical exposure of critical care areas at Aga Khan University Hospital , Karachi
- Clinical mentorship by Clinical Nurse Specialists
- Evidence based resource material
- Certificate at successful completion of the course
In addition to the above features the course will cover the following areas of study:
- Health Assessment of critically ill patients
- Concepts of oxygenation, mechanical ventilation and related nursing care
- Interpretation of life threatening arrhythmias
- Pharmacological and electrical management of life threatening arrhythmias
- Identification and management of medical emergencies
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation following recent guidelines of American Heart Association
- Hemodynamic management of critically ill patient integrating concepts of intra-arterial and Central Venous Pressure monitoring
- Assessment and management of patients with fluids and electrolytes imbalance
