AKU-EB Announces Supplementary Examination Results
August 30, 2008
Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) announced the results of its supplementary SSC examinations on August 30, 2008. Students, who took the supplementary examinations, have been provided their final verified college entry marks in the college enrolment season and will not lose any time in starting their higher secondary studies.
The supplementary results were announced just seven days after the last supplementary examination was held. This was made possible by the state-of-the-art e-marking technology employed by the Board. This rapid turnaround of results benefits absentees and those who were unable to perform well for personal reasons during the main examination session. Until now, such candidates have faced considerable uncertainty about college places or even the loss of a year's educational progress. A candidate from Mianwali commented, “I was worried about family problems and could not concentrate on my Maths exam, which made life worse. I am now extremely happy that I can apply for college along with my other class fellows.”
Electronic marking and tabulation of results by especially trained examiners make high quality assurance of results possible. The integrity and transparency of its examinations are AKU-EB's major priorities: it has provided results that colleges can depend on for their admissions and schools can rely on for accurate assessments of their students' understanding and grasp of the subject.
AKU-EB provides essential support to schools by training teachers and holding workshops in applying methodologies design ed to enhance students' subject performance. Teachers and AKU-EB are able to plan for and see gradual improvement year by year. Analyses of performance will also provide an objective basis for establishing explicit and transparent standards of achievements for SSC and HSSC grades.
The supplementary examinations results are available online .
