Aga Khan University's School of Nursing and Midwifery (AKU-SONAM) has entered into an agreement with Pathfinder International, a non-governmental organisation, that will see the two institutions embark on a range of collaborations and research projects.
AKU-SONAM and Pathfinder International aim to work on areas of integration related to planning, implementation, research collaboration, service delivery and impact assessment of current and future programmes to raise awareness and address issues of sexual and reproductive health and rights in Pakistan.
Pathfinder International, which has branches in 20 countries around the globe, has been working in the field of sexual and reproductive health for six decades. It holds a strong portfolio of projects on community development and initiatives related to country-level capacity-building.
Spearheaded by the Research Unit of the AKU School of Nursing and Midwifery, and Assistant Dean of Research at SONAM, Dr Tazeen Ali, an MoU signing ceremony was held on Monday, January 20, 2020, between the two organisations.
Dr Rozina Karmaliani, AKU-SONAM interim dean was the chief signatory on behalf of AKU while Pathfinder International-Pakistan Country Director Dr Tabinda Sarosh represented the NGO.
