The Aga Khan University's Global Engagement Office (previously known as the University Partnerships Office) has been at the forefront of cultivating national and international partnerships for the university since 2006. The office aims to establish connections of “depth and breadth" as in the words of His Highness. The Global Engagement Office serves as a gateway for partnership opportunities and conveys AKU's global vision and work to establish meaningful and reciprocal partnerships and innovative opportunities.

The Global Engagement Office (GEO) has been creating opportunities for AKU's faculty, staff, and students for over a decade and is now expanding to take a more holistic approach to global engagement and internationalization. In collaboration with academic and staff teams, GEO has established AKU's partnership strategy, frameworks, mobility platforms, knowledge networking programmes, applied research, grant development, and data collection. GEO continues to deepen its interface with the AKDN while strengthening AKU's partnership ecosystem.​
