Yasir Shafiq is a Senior Instructor in Research at the Centre of Excellence for Trauma and Emergencies at the Aga Khan University, Pakistan. With 18 years of experience in healthcare and public health research, Yasir has dedicated his career to improving health outcomes for vulnerable communities in Pakistan. His primary research focus is on maternal, neonatal, and child health (MNCH), particularly within complex emergencies involving conflict, climate change, and pandemics.
Currently a PhD candidate at the Department of Translational Medicine and the Center for Research and Training in Disaster Medicine, Humanitarian Aid, and Global Health at Università degli Studi del Piemonte Orientale “Amedeo Avogadro” in Italy, Yasir is also a Research Intern with the Newborn Team at Global Advancement of Infants and Mothers at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is a visiting Graduate Student at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, Department of Global Health and Population at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
