SPIE (Society for Promoting Innovation in Education) conducted a CPR awareness camp at the Dawood Public School on April 13, 2019. The activity was attended by 70 students from grade 7. They were taught about the emergency measures to be taken, how to identify someone who has just suffered from a cardiac arrest, which emergency response services to call (1020, 1021, 115) and how to perform a "Hands-Only" CPR. All of the participants had to undergo a hands-on training session and a pre / post-test.
A similar workshop was conducted for 80+ students on the 20th of April, to achieve the purpose of creating awareness and providing training in case of cardiac emergencies. We hope to continue the community awareness camps in the near future and we welcome volunteers from all tiers of the medical profession to join us in our mission to train individuals and communities to tackle acute medical situations and public health awareness. We are proud to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the organising team and the volunteers who have continued to invest their time and skills to help progress our mission.
