ISMC alumna, Fatima Islam, has joined the Institute’s British Academy funded programme in Gilgit, Pakistan as a Research Assistant.
Reflecting on how MA in Muslim Cultures helped her prepare for the role she said: “The course provided me with the opportunity to understand, critique and engage in an intellectually stimulating way on subjects like world-history and Muslim societies and civilisations. More importantly, it opened new spheres of opportunities for me. This opportunity as a Research Assistant has given me a chance to serve back the community. I will be involved in the analysis of data for the project, which will be a great way for me to showcase the skills I have honed through the programme whilst providing me an opportunity to develop my research and analytical skills!”
