Identifying cardiac arrest and initiating cardiopulmonary resuscitation is vital for ensuring survival of anyone whose heart has suddenly stopped beating. These are essential skills that all healthcare workers should have in their tool-kit.
Early in October, Mr. Talha Ahmed Khan, our Simulation Technical Analyst, travelled to Gilgit Baltistan with equipment from CIME to help in conducting BLS, ACLS and PALS courses for healthcare professionals at the Gilgit Medical Centre, AKHSP. These courses were conducted over the span of ten days, from the 4th till the 13th of October. This was the first time these courses were conducted at the Medical Centre.
After their didactic sessions, participants took part in a variety of simulation scenarios, performed chest compressions and practiced basic airway management on our adult, child and infant simulators.
