The MOU signing ceremony, recently hosted at Rescue 1122’s regional headquarters in Karachi, was honored by the presence of key figures in the field, including Dr. Adil Haider, Dean of the Medical College at Aga Khan University, Dr. Junaid Razzak, Director of AKU-Centre of Excellence for Trauma and Emergencies (AKU-CETE), Dr. Abid Jalaluddin Shaikh, Director-General of Sindh Emergency Rescue Service 1122, Dr. Noor Baig, leading physician of PLSP, alongside other distinguished members from the PLSP Secretariat.
This partnership heralds a new chapter in lifesaving efforts in Sindh. PLSP training will be expanded through 1122's community training programme, as part of joint efforts to advance emergency medical services, promote public awareness on lifesaving techniques, and build a resilient and prepared community in Sindh.
Following the ceremony, as of February 2024, Sindh Emergency Rescue Service 1122, has successfully trained over 100 of its staff members as Pakistan Life Savers. Sessions were held at Rescue 1122 Sukkur Station, Rescue 1122 HQ Karachi, Rescue 1122 Hyderabad Station, and Pakistan Institute of Rehabilitation Medical Sciences.
