Chartered in 1983, Aga Khan University (AKU) is a private, autonomous, and self-governing international university with 13 teaching sites in 6 countries distributed across three continents. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is the academic department of the University to support wide range of in-patient and outpatient care services pertinent to general obstetrics and gynaecology including lactation consultancy, family planning and parenting education. In addition to the core services, department also caters to wide range of specialized services of Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Urogyneoclogy and Pediatrics & Adolescent gynaeoclogy. The department also offers formal post graduate training programs of residency and fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine, Urogynecology and Gynecologic Oncology.
