Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

  • demonstrate safe handling and proper use of equipment/supplies
  • provide high quality personalized planned holistic nursing care to all assigned patients
  • administer medication safely, apply knowledge of drug and dosages, and refer to the drug manual and/or pharmacy information as required
  • monitor patients’ responses to medication and timely communicate reportable findings
  • counsel and educate patients on health behaviors
  • demonstrate efficiency in use of electronic monitoring equipment
  • demonstrate competence in patient assessment and care plan accordingly, and effectively work with multidisciplinary teams
  • perform any other task assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

You should have:

  • a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BScN) or Diploma in Nursing with a valid PNC license
  • at least one year of nursing experience, preferably at AKUH
  • certification in BLS, CPR, Safe Medication Administration, I/V Canulation, ECG Interpretation and Aseptic Techniques
  • availability for a minimum 32 hours or 4 shifts per month
  • readiness to work at any clinical unit of the hospital as per staffing needs
  • good interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills
  • willingness to sign-off an initial contract of one year and work in all shift duties.
