Introduction

The Aga Khan University Hospital(AKUH) is a not-for-profit healthcare institute that offers all medical services to their patients under one roof. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology is part of the University’s Women and Child Health Division, which deals with the continuum of maternal, fetal and child health issues. It offers a broad range of in-patient and out-patient services for women including high risk obstetrical care, infertility, foetal assessment, routine obstetric, reproductive endocrinology, gynaecological oncology and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of routine gynaecological disorders. It also offers a four-year residency training programme.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:
  • provide supervision in the inpatient and outpatient areas along with senior faculty members
  • perform daily team rounds, formulate cure plan and expedite discharges on a daily-basis in consultation with senior faculty members and Fellows
  • develop and practice a system that is quality-based and has an academic and service model embedded in it
  • teach and train undergraduates and postgraduates according to the defined standards and curriculum
  • formulate quality initiatives for the units and present them at various platforms under the guidance of faculty members
  • contribute to patient complaint reviews and case review system / root cause analysis
  • participate in the perinatal, other departmental and organizational performance improvement activities.

Requirements

You should have:
  • an MBBS degree and a valid PMDC license
  • completed structured postgraduate training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from a reputable institution and possess FCPS-I in Obstetrics and Gynaecology while preference will be given to those having completed FCPS
  • excellent interpersonal, teaching and training skills
  • excellent procedural skills and ability to provide quality and safe patient care in a diverse setting
  • ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently
  • comprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
