The Institute seeks to appoint a talented and dynamic faculty member specializing in Social Studies, with a strong background in History, Pakistan Studies, Geography, Citizenship, or Development Studies. The primary responsibilities include teaching, research, contributing to educational development projects, and academic administration. Established in 1993, the Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development, Pakistan (AKU-IED, P), is a highly respected institution recognized for its teaching, research, policy analysis, and work in the field with schools and other educational institutions. The Institute has three Professional Development Centres in Karachi, Gilgit, and Chitral.
To support its work, the Institute offers a broad array of academic programmes for in-service teachers, teacher educators, and education managers/leaders from both the public and private sectors. These programmes include a PhD in Education, MPhil in Education, Bachelors in Education, Advanced Diplomas, Certificate Programmes, and Continuing Professional Education courses for teachers, teacher educators, principals, and education managers and leaders.
