When does the programme commence?
The Master of Science in Advanced Practice Nursing (Adult Health) is a two-year programme that commences in August of each year.
How many intakes are there in a year?
There is one intake for the Master of Science in Advanced Practice Nursing (Adult Health) programme. Applications open in February of each year.
What is the admission criteria for the Masters programmes?
Relevant academic bachelor’s degree holders:
Upper Second-class honours or a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.00 on a four-point scale; OR
Lower Second-class honours or a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.50 on a four-point scale with additional relevant training, evidence of research capability through either research, paper presentations or peer reviewed publications and relevant working experience.
Must be a registered nurse with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) and hold a current practice license.
Must have a minimum two (2) years of practice experience, after having completed an undergraduate degree programme.
Can one apply for the programme immediately after pursuing an undergraduate degree?
Apart from obtaining an undergraduate degree, relevant years of experience are required in order to be eligible for the Masters programme.
Is the programme full-time or part-time?
This is a full-time programme. Classes will be conducted on the specific days and times of the semester as shared by the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
How are classes conducted in the COVID-19 era?
Classes are carried out online via the Virtual Learning Environment, Moodle and other online learning platforms.
Is the programme open to applicants from all nationalities?
The programme is open to applicants from all nations. One is however expected to be a registered nurse with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) and hold a current practice license.
How can one apply for the scholarship?
Successful candidates with letters of offer will be required to submit scholarship application forms to the University.
What is the criteria for scholarship award?
Scholarships are awarded based on need, merit and availability of funds.
Is the scholarship full of partial?
Scholarships are partial. They cater to a percentage of the tuition fees.
