How many intakes are there in a year?
There are two intakes in a year i.e. February and August each year.
What programmes do you offer?
Currently the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Kenya is offering Post-RN Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN); the Post-RN Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (BScM); the Master of Science in Advanced Practice Nursing (MSc-APN); and the Master of Science in Advanced Practice Midwifery (MSc-APM).
What is the admission criteria?
Eligibility criteria for BScM
- The applicant must have attained a mean Grade of C plain at KCSE or Division II at KCE/EACE
- Must be a holder of Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN) or Kenya Registered Nurse (KRN) and Kenya Registered Midwife (KRM) - (KRN and KRM) from a recognized training institution.
- Must be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) and hold a current practice license
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of practice experience
Eligibility criteria for BScN
- Form IV level of education with a minimum aggregate score of C plain KCSE or Division II in KCE.
- Must be a holder of Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN) or Kenya Registered Nurse (KRN)
- A current registration and a valid practicing license.
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years of practice experience.
What is the duration of the programme?
The duration of both the BScN and the BScM programmes is two and a half-year. The duration of MSc-APN and MSc-APM is two (2) years.
What is the tuition fees?
Tuition fees is charges on a semester basis. For the year 2021 tuition fees is Kshs 200,000 per semester. There are two semesters in an academic year. Do you offer accommodation for the students?
Currently, the School does not offer accommodation facility for the students.
