Alice Moraa Ondieki
Research Assistant

Alice brings a strong research background and practical experience in human research studies, developed during her tenure at the University of Nairobi and the Kenya Medical Research Institute. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology and is a licensed nurse, certified by the Nursing Council of Kenya. Her academic credentials are further complemented by certifications in Good Clinical Practice and Research on Human Subjects from the University of Washington.​​

​​​At the Brain a​nd Mind Institute (BMI), Alice serves as a Research Assistant for the Female Brain Health and Endocrine Research in Africa project. In this role, she is dedicated to exploring endocrinological, lifestyle, psychosocial, and socio-cultural factors influencing Alzheimer’s disease prevention among women of African ancestry.​​

​B​efore joining BMI, Alice served as a Research Assistant for the Simplified Treatment using Magnesium Sulphate (STEP-Mag) for the Prevention of Eclampsia study at the University of Nairobi's Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. This study focused on addressing treatment and prevention challenges for eclampsia in low-income countries. She also worked as a Research Assistant for the Kenya Single-Dose HPV Vaccine Efficacy (KEN-SHE) study at the Kenya Medical Research Institute, which evaluated the efficacy of a single-dose HPV vaccine compared to the traditional two-dose regimen.

Alice's diverse career experiences have equipped her with excellent knowledge of various research methodologies, data collection techniques, and proficiency in data software programs such as REDCap, DFnet, and Metadata. She is deeply passionate about women's health and well-being, as well as empowering youth and young girls.​​​​​
