Project Manager
With over 15 years of expertise, Catherine Bikeri is a seasoned project manager specializing in implementation and research initiatives spanning rural and urban communities. Her impactful work targets adolescents, emerging adults, and the adult population across diverse areas, including Mental health, Reproductive Health, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, HIV/TB, Malaria, and Maternal, Child, and Neonatal Health.
Catherine's managerial prowess extends to projects that redefine policy environments, notably introducing new regulations for the nursing profession in Kenya. Her wealth of experience has been cultivated in esteemed organizations such as Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), The Aga Khan University, and USAID-funded APHIA projects.
Armed with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and a Master of Science degree in Community Health and Development, Catherine is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology, showcasing her commitment to holistic healthcare. Her academic journey has been complemented by collaborative research ventures, resulting in publications on topics like Gender-Based Violence, its correlation with alcohol and drug use, and HIV among adolescents in schools and tertiary learning institutions, as well as nursing policy and regulation in Kenya.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Catherine channels her passion for mental wellness by volunteering as a coach for adolescents and emerging adults. In her free time, she finds solace in reading, further emphasizing her dedication to personal and community growth.
Currently at BMI, Catherine spearheads the Wellcome Leap Dynamic Resilience Project. In this role, she oversees and manages research trials from initiation to completion, ensuring strict adherence to protocols, timelines, and regulatory requirements while maintaining the highest standards of research integrity. She ensures standardization of project processes, trial planning, initiation, execution and monitoring, regulatory compliance, participant recruitment, enrolment and retention, budget, grant, and resource management among other roles.
