Ms. Ciru Kamanda (Wanjiru Nancy) is a seasoned Operations Leader and the founding Office Manager at the Brain and Mind Institute (BMI) of Aga Khan University. With over a decade of experience in the academic and non-profit sectors, Kamanda has demonstrated expertise in managing complex projects, overseeing multi-million-dollar financial portfolios, and leading cross-functional teams. Her work is driven by strategic planning, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to fostering sustainable growth and development.
In her role at BMI, Kamanda plays a pivotal part in advising senior leadership on institutional priorities and policy matters, while overseeing critical operations, financial management, and human resources functions. She leads initiatives in grant management, coordinating a diverse portfolio of research projects, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards. Kamanda also spearheads fellowship programs, administrative operations, and risk management efforts, enhancing BMI's regional impact.
Kamanda holds a Master’s degree in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi, and she is passionate about aligning organizational goals with innovative processes that drive development and positive change.
