Dr ​Nesic-Taylor is a neuroscience researcher and educator. For more than 2 decades, she worked in US medical schools, as a tenured faculty, principal investigator on federally funded grants in the field of neurotrauma, as an awarded medical neuroscience educator, and in leadership positions as an associate dean or Endowed department chair, before retiring and joining the BMI. Prior to joining US Universities, she worked as a neuroscientist at Universities in Serbia, Canada and Germany.​
