​​CETE Disaster Preparedness and Response Leadership Course​

​Empowering Leaders with Essential Skills

The Centre is excited to announce the Disaster Preparedness and Response Leadership Course for the 2024-25 academic year (210 CME Credit Hours), a joint initiative by the Centre of Excellence for Trauma and Emergencies (CETE), Aga Khan University, and the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat (AKAH). Course Overview: This one-year hybrid course is designed to build capacity in disaster preparedness and response. Through a mix of online and in-person sessions, participants will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to lead effectively during crises.

  • Introduction to Disaster Management

  • Public Health Emergencies for Large Populations

  • Creating, Implementing, and Evaluating Disaster Response Plans

  • Disaster Risk Reduction in the Era of Climate Change

Learning Outcomes

Participants will:

  • Learn to identify, analyze, and respond to various types of disasters.
  • Co-create and implement robust emergency preparedness plans.
  • Enhance decision-making and communication skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Foster resilience with a strong foundation in decision-making during disasters.

Fee Structure

  • Tuition Fee: 1950 USD per participant.

  • Scholarships may be offered to compelling applicants. To apply for a scholarship, please attach a motivation letter to your registration form, outlining a compelling reason why your application should be approved.
