Multimodal simulation-based education approach
The School of
Nursing and Midwifery (SONAM) has traditionally used Peer-Physical Exam (in
addition to the CIME’s various task trainers) to teach their second-year
students the art of history taking and physical examination as part of their
Health Assessment course.
After
analysing data from across the world that supported using a multimodal
simulation-based approach to better achieve this outcome, Ms. Rahina Inayat
Ali from the CIME Education Team and Ms. Shanaz Cassum, a highly respected
SONAM faculty member, decided to work together to integrate this approach
into the course’s existing curriculum.
