Message from the Director
The Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health, East Africa, is dedicated to advancing the health and wellbeing of women, adolescents, and children through innovative research, collaborative partnerships, and evidence-based interventions.
Our mission is to address the complex health challenges faced by these populations, with a focus on creating sustainable solutions that can be implemented globally. We aim to bridge the gap between research and practice, ensuring that our findings translate into real-world improvements in health outcomes.
Our interdisciplinary team of researchers, healthcare professionals, and policy experts work together to tackle key issues such as maternal and neonatal health, adolescent mental health, nutrition, child development and sexual and reproductive health and rights. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that promotes equity and empowers communities.
The Centre continues to make significant strides in enhancing the health and wellbeing of these vulnerable populations across the region. We collaborate with global partners, local communities, and policymakers to translate our research into real-world solutions and to achieve lasting improvements. By empowering individuals and communities with knowledge and resources, we strive to create a healthier, more equitable world for all.
