Associate Faculty of the Institute
Purpose
The Aga Khan University has established the Institute for Global Health and Development to drive collaboration across the University’s multi-country campuses, connect academic entities, compete for large-scale grants, and undertake interdisciplinary research and related programming. Establishing an appointment process and associated terms of reference for Associate Faculty members is a priority for the action. The Institute for Global Health and Development seeks the appointment of Associate Faculty members as a component of its strategy to deploy academic talent.

Process
Associate Faculty members retain their primary academic appointment. The appointment as an Associate Faculty in the Institute for Global Health and Development is dependent upon an agreement between the relevant Dean/Director of the entity to which the faculty member is primarily appointed and the Director of the Institute for Global Health and Development, and must be approved by the Provost and Vice President (Academic).

All Associate Faculty members shall:
- Bring needed expertise to the Institute for Global Health and Development and/or seek to expand their professional growth through the Institute’s activities;
- Participate in education programs, research work, implementation science activities, and partnership engagement that is directly relevant to the mission statement of the Institute for Global Health and Development.
