He is the current national Vice Chair of the Kenya Association of Physicians and the current Nairobi branch Chair of the Kenya Association of Physicians. He is also a member of the East and Central African College of Physicians executive committee. His current research interest is in the area of sexual dysfunction in type 2 diabetes. He is also involved in countrywide training on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in collaboration with the NCD Department in the Ministry of Health.

Dr Sairabanu Sokwalla, MBChB, MMed, PGDip-Diabetes (UK), PGDip-Endocrinology (UK), FCP (ECSA) Senior Instructor and Associate Programme Director
Dr Sairabanu Sokwalla is a Consultant Physician, Endocrinologist and a Senior Instructor and Associate Programme Director in the Department of Medicine, Endocrine section, Aga Khan University Medical College, East Africa. She is also a Founding Fellow of the East, Central and South African College of Physicians (ECSACOP).
She graduated with an MBBS undergraduate degree from the Fatima Jinnah Medical College, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan in 2006, then completed her masters in Internal Medicine in 2013 from the University of Nairobi. She pursued her sub-specialization in Diabetes and Endocrinology from the University of South Wales, UK (2016 and 2019, respectively). She further attended a 4-month clinical elective training at the endocrine unit at Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi in early 2020. She is currently pursuing an MSc course in Endocrinology.
Dr Sairabanu is an executive member and head of the Research Committee of the Kenya Diabetes Study Group. She is also the lead in developing national in-patient and out-patient protocols for diabetes care in Kenya and is actively involved in establishing of the Diabetes/Endocrine fellowship training in the country. She is an active member of the Kenya Association of Physicians, Kenya Association of Muslim Medical Practitioners and Diabetes and Ramadan- Africa (DaR Africa). She is a prominent speaker/ presenter and panelist in healthcare provider and patient both locally and internationally.
She is passionate about delivering patient education in Diabetes and Endocrine conditions through various platforms including social and mainstream media. She is a diabetes Ambassador (Kenya) for the global diabetes patient education magazine ‘Diabeaters’. In addition to patient education, she has been involved in educating the Kenyan public on diabetes and endocrine related conditions through newspaper, magazine articles, and television and radio interviews.
Her fields of special interest in research and education include sleep disorders in diabetes, reproductive endocrinology, diabetes and Ramadan fasting, thyroid disorders and endocrine hypertension. She is keen on providing comprehensive diabetes and endocrine care through a multidisciplinary team approach and has been involved in multidisciplinary diabetes team care for over 5 years.
Her overall motto is; ‘to fill the gaps in improving diabetes and endocrine care at every level in the country and region,' and she strives actively on a daily basis to achieve this goal.

Dr Davis Ombui Ogeto is a consultant physician and endocrinologist, Department of Medicine at the Aga Khan University Medical College, East Africa.
Dr Ogeto completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at Moi University, Eldoret, Kenya and his Master of Medicine (MMed) in Internal Medicine, University of Nairobi. He then proceeded to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Endocrinology at the University of South Wales, Newport, UK and thereafter a Master of science in diabetes-University of South Wales, Newport, UK and a clinical fellowship in diabetes and endocrinology-University hospital of North Durham. UK.
His area of interest includes diabetes technology (CGMs and Insulin pumps), diabetes and thyroid disorders in pregnancy, thyroid disorders, pituitary and adrenal nodules evaluation and management. Dr Ogeto is a member of the British Endocrine Society, Association of British Clinical Diabetologist, Kenya Association of Physicians and Kenya Diabetes Study Group.
