The six-year degree programme is designed to prepare medical doctors who are well grounded with knowledge, competencies and skills in humanities, social sciences and medical sciences. Master of Medicine (MMEd)

Based at the Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya and Aga Khan Hospital in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Aga Khan University offers Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) programmes in nine areas of specialisation. The PGME programmes consist of four years of training and examinations, leading to a Master of Medicine (MMed) degree and attract candidates from across East Africa who are admitted on merit.

About the Postgraduate Medical Education​​ Programme

The Medical College in East Africa is at the forefront of building a new academic community pr​oviding outstanding health p​rofessional education, buildi​ng strong programmes of research that support graduate students and postdoctoral training, as well as offering programmes and services that are relevant to, and have an impact across East Africa.

We have the distinct advantage of being part of an over one hundred year history of service to the East African community through the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) that includes a broad range of community development and healthcare delivery services across East Africa. In addition, we are transforming the quality of health care in the region via the Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi where we are building a Faculty of Health Sciences campus clo​sely integrated with the broader health care delivery system of the AKDN.
