Dr Kevin Onyinkwa Ombati
Senior Instructor, Section Head and Programme Director
Dr Kevin Ombati is a Senior Instructor, Section Head and Programme Director at the Aga Khan Medical College, East Africa. He completed his MBChB from the University of Nairobi in 2011 and MMed in imaging and diagnostic radiology from the Aga Khan University Medical College, East Africa in 2017. Dr Ombati has interests in cardiothoracic imaging and is actively involved in the application of new techniques in Cardiac MRI and CT.
He has a certificate in cardiac imaging from the European Society of Cardiac Radiology (ESCR) and is interested in pursuing a fellowship in Cardiac Imaging. Dr Ombati is currently working on completing his FRCR examinations. He is a corresponding member of various international organizations including: Society for Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (SCMR), European Society of Cardiac Radiology (ESCR) and the European Society of Thoracic Imaging (ESTI).
He is the radiology lead in Cardiothoracic multidisciplinary meetings with other clinicians. He served as the chief resident radiologist at AKUHN in 2016 and received the Best Resident Award from the Kenya Association of Radiologists in 2017. His research interests are in the development of novel imaging biomarkers in Cardiothoracic imaging and assessment of cardiac imaging findings in patients with HIV.
Dr Ombati is also a Consultant in Cardiothoracic Imaging at The Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi.
