Ali looks after social media and video storytelling at the Medical College and is responsible for launching the entity’s Facebook Page, which has now almost 20,000 likes in just under two years since its launch. Ali has a background in journalism and has worked for newsrooms in Pakistan and the United States. He is very passionate about human rights and can be found advocating for causes he cares about during his free time.
Haniya Javed is a content specialist at the Medical College, Aga Khan University. Previously, she has reported extensively on labour migration, environment, and human rights for local and international publications. When not pitching stories, Haniya can be found reading crime and historical fiction, painting with acrylic, or -her latest fad- baking banana bread.
Janelle is a proficient communications expert at AKU’s Medical College. With an experience of over 15 years, Janelle is the person behind the camera producing videos, running the website content, facilitating events, and ensuring smooth communications operations at the Medical College. When she’s not at work displaying her amazing management and marketing skills, she’s busy leading the choir in her community. She’s passionate about community service whether its fundraising for charities, spending time with the differently-abled or organising events for the less privileged. Between all of this, she can also be found running laps and taking on some of the toughest machines at the gym, and trying out the latest eateries in the city.
Sana leads strategy and communications at the Medical College, working with partners across AKU to develop clear direction and goals. Sana's background is in education policy and she has worked in the development and higher education sector in strategic planning for almost a decade. Sana started as a teacher, and continues to love working in an environment that trains and builds capacity of people that make impact across the world.
