Prosthodontics is a specialised branch of dentistry dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation, and maintenance of oral function, comfort, aesthetics, and overall oral health. It focuses on the restoration of patients with missing or deficient teeth and oral/maxillofacial structures using biocompatible prostheses such as crowns, bridges, dentures, and implant-supported restorations.
The four-year FCPS Prosthodontics Residency Programme at Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) is designed to develop competent, autonomous clinicians with strong critical thinking abilities, refined clinical judgement, and advanced technical expertise. The programme fosters a culture of academic excellence and lifelong learning, preparing graduates for specialist-level practice in Prosthodontics.
Graduates are trained to restore function and aesthetics while preserving biological integrity and ensuring harmonious interaction between oral structures ultimately improving patients’ overall health and quality of life.
