In these complicated times, more and more people are looking online to help them find a sense of calm and wellbeing. AKU-ISMC alumni, Tehmina Mansoor and Zohaib Zuby have responded to this by setting up a platform sharing guided meditations in Urdu and English. Be-khudi combines wisdom from their native South Asia with the discipline of Mindfulness and is the first platform to offer meditations in both languages. Tehmina explains how Be-khudi is developing during the pandemic; “We launched in January of this year right before lockdown and posted our free Urdu and English Meditations as an album.”
As lockdown continued Tehmina started receiving requests for more support. This led to the creation of a new meditation - specially addressing the frightening effects of the pandemic; the "
Mindful Conversation" series which launched in July and is especially aimed at people feeling affected by the post-covid life. Tehmina adds; “Most of the people registering wrote about having trouble in their new post-covid life. Some are having a problem with routine, some have a problem with managing children; and so on. This is a free service, just like all the meditations we have posted online. We have since gotten a very good response.”
