The second Clinical Simulation Educators Programme in Nairobi was held on February 28 - March 4, 2022. The programme drew sixteen participants, with internal attendees from the Medical College, Paediatrics and Accident and Emergency. Also in attendance were participants from Gertrudes Children's Hospital Nairobi, Kenya Medical Training Centre and five from Ghana: Accra College of Medicine as well as The University of Cape Coast School of Medical Sciences.
“The content is great, the opportunities are fantastic and I would encourage others to register for the course” – Dr Wagaki Gicheru, Anaesthesiologist, KMTC, Nairobi.
“The course was an eye opener, and we learned the best practices in designing courses using simulation education" - Kennedy Njenga, Senior Manager, Medical College, AKU-EA.
“The course expanded my understanding on the use of simulation in medical education" - Prof. Afua Hesse, Paediatric Surgery and College President, Accra College of Medicine.
The broad representation in terms of both specialties and institutions underscored the importance of CIME in the region and the impact that the centre is likely to have as it becomes more established in the simulation space in Africa.
