The 2nd EyeSurg Tournament was arranged on September 16, 2022, by CIME in partnership with the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. The tournament was held as part of Healthcare Simulation Week 2022. The aim was to engage residents and students in a competitive safe learning environment where they can practice eye surgery and improve their surgical skills on CIME's EyeSi simulator - the first of its kind in Pakistan.
18 participants including residents and medical students, from The Aga Khan University, Isra University, Shifa College of Medicine - Islamabad, and Sindh Institute of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences - Hyderabad, performed a variety of procedures related to cataract surgery on the EyeSi simulator.
The tournament was a huge success and highly appreciated by the participants and programme faculty. The competition will be held annually, and our goal is to increase engagement and participation to make it bigger and better.
