The Gender-Based Violence, GBV, research group at The Aga Khan University School of Nursing and Midwifery, AKU-SONAM, conducts research on various aspects of gender-based violence, including its causes, prevalence, associated factors, and interventions, in order to practice policy reviews in the field of GBV prevention and response.
Our core areas for intervention have been in the Gilgit-Chitral and Baltistan regions of Pakistan through the Sehatmand Khandan initiative of the United Nations Populations Fund, UNFPA, funded by Global Affairs Canada, and being implemented in partnership with The Aga Khan Foundation.
