​​Publication and Literar​y Society​

The AKU Publications & Literary Society aims to cultivate an atmosphere of creativity on campus by providing a platform to all those interested in literature-related activities, such as creative writing, journalism, poetry, and spoken word performances. It focuses on promoting both the English and Urdu languages through these projects. The society is versatile in its mode of delivery, hosting both virtual content and live events. It is open to students of all programs across AKU.

​Signature E​vents ​

Our mission, vision, and strategic objectives highlight the values and ethos of the society​ and defines all our activities. 

The Literary Laxative Book Club: A bi-monthly Book Club, discussing a short story, novella or a full-length novel mutually decided upon by the members of the book club. Members volunteer ideas for books to read where they meet throughout the month to discuss their interpretations.

Khabarnaama Newsletter: Khabarnaama is a 4-6 page newsletter stringing together the creative work of multiple individuals across campus. A theme is chosen that dictates both the nature of the written work and the design of the paper. The pieces range from sattire, informative, reflective & poetic.

Brewed Tales: A combined Urdu baitbazi and spoken poetry event in collaboration with the music society. A celebration of the literary arts in both English and Urdu accompanied with performances prepared by the music society.

Humans of AKU: An online project dedicated to highlighting the stories of various people in the AKU community including staff members, faculty, alumni, student, workers etc.
