Work and Study Programme (WASP)
About
The Office of Student Experience, in collaboration with different departments within AKU, provides students with an opportunity to work on-campus or to be part of projects and programmes within AKU. This allows students to use their time to gain experience, develop transferable skills, boost their résumés and earn extra money.
Students may work up to 20 hours per month but not more than 50 hours during an academic year. They will receive an honorarium, paid directly to the student in cash when the task has been completed. A ‘work’ completion certificate may also be provided.
Depending on the nature of the work, students may be paid according to an hourly, daily or project lump-sum rate. Remuneration will depend on the skill, time and nature of the job.
Jobs available will be advertised on this website and emailed to all students. Submission of an application form is required. It will be at the discretion of requesting department to choose students on a first-come, first-served basis or through an interview process.
This programme is only applicable to current AKU students.
