Introduction

The Department of Paediatrics and Child Health is committed to providing state-of-the-art clinical services to children. It imparts high quality undergraduate and postgraduate training and subspecialty trainings and research opportunities. Besides the outpatient clinics, the inpatient set-up consists of a paediatric ward with two units comprising of 84 beds, a state of art Neonatal Intensive care unit with latest equipment and protocols in place and a capacity of 24 high acuity beds  with one is to one staffing along with 10 bedded level 2 care monitored cots. The Neonatal section offers a 2 year Neonatal fellowship training and is one the oldest and established fellowship program with 6 fellows. In addition to care for sick babies, the section also provides services along with Pediatric consultants to the Well baby in the post-natal wards.

Responsibilities

This is a one-year training programme which includes classroom sessions, practical examinations and regular rounds in Inpatient and Outpatient patient care areas. You will work under supervision of consultants and specific responsibilities include to:
  • prepare patients for therapy sessions
  • closely monitor patients' development during therapy
  • make progress notes on how the patients are responding pre and post-therapy, and assist them
  • fulfill other official responsibilities as may be assigned by the supervisors. 

Requirements

You should have:
  • At least Bachelors degree in Physiotherapy or Doctor of in Physical Therapy (DPT).
  • Minimum of one year's work experience in Paediatrics.
  • Good knowledge of Physiotherapy methodologies and techniques.
  • Proficiency in particularly in English language along with solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively work in teams as well as independently.
