The four-year, direct-entry Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) programme aims to equip nursing students with the skills and competencies needed to function in areas such as patient-centered care, teamwork and interprofessional practice, evidence-based practice, quality improvement and use of informatics and technology to enhance the quality of care.
Upon completion of the programme, the graduates will be eligible to enter the nursing profession as intern nurses. After passing the mandatory licensure examination by the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC), they will be required to complete a one-year internship to qualify for the license to practice as professional nurses.

Eligibility Criteria
Following is the eligibility criteria applicable for 2024 cycle:
Three principal passes in Chemistry, Biology and either Physics or Mathematics or Nutrition with a minimum of 6 points, i.e., an applicant must have at least “C” grade in Chemistry and at least “D” grade in Biology and “E” grade in Physics or Advanced Mathematics or Nutrition.
Applicants with Foreign Advanced Secondary Education Certificates are required to obtain an equivalence certificate from the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
