The MSc in Advanced Practice Nursing (MSc-APN) is a work-study programme that allows candidates to complete this two-year programme while they continue to work. It is designed to prepare advanced practice nurses who will develop innovative, practical solutions to complex health problems from a scientific perspective. 

Upon graduation, graduates are expected to become leaders with decision-making skills in advanced clinical practice and nursing education, capable ​​of providing independent care across various settings and patient populations. This program will instill unique values to enhance clinical competencies and primary care at both clinical and community levels, emphasizing curative, rehabilitative, preventive, and promotive services.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing with minimum average of “B’’ or GPA of 2.7 awarded by an Institution accredited by Tanzania Commission of Universities (TCU) or its equivalent​
  • Current practicing license and registration with either the Tanzania or Zanzibar Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting as a registered nurse-midwife
