Terms and Conditions for Alumni Account Creation
Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before creating an alumni account. By submitting the account creation form, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to comply with the terms and conditions outlined below:
Account Creation
The alumni account is provided solely for the use of former students of AKU and at your request.
The account creation process requires you to submit accurate and up-to-date information.
Account Usage
Your alumni account is for personal use only and should not be shared with or accessed by others.
You are solely responsible for any activities conducted through your account.
Any unauthorized use of your account or breach of security should be immediately reported to the university's administrators.
Information Accuracy
You agree to provide accurate and complete information during the account creation process.
You are responsible for updating your account information if there are any changes or modifications.
Acceptable Use
The alumni account must be used in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and AKU policies .
You must not engage in any activity that violates the rights of others, including but not limited to intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any form of harassment.
You must l not do, or omit to do, anything to prejudice the distinctiveness, validity, reputation or goodwill of the Aga Khan University
Data Privacy and Security
The university is committed to handling your personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws and privacy policies.
Your personal information provided during the account creation process will be used solely for alumni-related activities.
Upon accepting these terms, you provide AKU with your explicit consent to utilize your email and phone for university communication, thereby waiving your right to file any complaints related to such communication.
Retention of Data
You are providing your personal data voluntarily in order to obtain AKU alumni email and such data will be retained by the University for alumni related purposes and/or for the purposes and in accordance with law and regulations and/or for competent authorities.
Data Collection and Processing
Your consent to the collection, processing, and storage of personal data provided through the Application.
Personal data may include but is not limited to names, contact information, academic and professional details, and any other relevant information voluntarily shared.
Account Suspension or Termination
The university reserves the right to suspend or terminate your alumni account at any time, in its absolute discretion, without prior notice.
Account suspension or termination may occur in the event of non-compliance with these terms and conditions or if deemed necessary for security or safety reasons.
Damages
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold us harmless from and against any and all claims, demands, damages, losses and penalties, direct or consequential, arising out of, and/or related to your breach of any of these Terms and Conditions.
Liability
The university and its administrators shall not be liable (under any circumstances whatsoever) for any damages, losses, or liabilities arising from the use, misuse or inability to use the alumni account.
The university does not warrant and/or guarantee uninterrupted access to the alumni account or the availability of any specific features or services.
User Rights
It is your responsibility to maintain the confidentiality and security of your account credentials (username and password).
Transferring your account to another user or third party is strictly prohibited and the university shall exercise its rights under these terms and conditions or the law.
Modification of Terms
The university reserves the right to modify or update these terms and conditions at any time without notice.
It is your responsibility to review the terms and conditions periodically, at least once a month to ensure compliance with the latest version.
