​​Action Amos
Research Consultant - Lived Experience

Action Amos is a person living with a neurological disorder and serves as the Regional Coordinator for the International Bureau of Epilepsy – Africa, overseeing 28 affiliates across the continent. He is also a Lived Experience Researcher and a Technical Advisor for the Pan African Network for Persons with Psychosocial Disabilities (PANPDD). Action holds multiple academic qualifications, including an MSc in Mental Health in Children and Young People from the University of Edinburgh, an MBA in Leadership and Sustainability from the University of Cumbria, a BA in Development Studies from Ireland, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Disability and Rehabilitation Management from Cavendish University. He is currently a Postgraduate Research Fellow with the Clinical Brain Science Unit at the University of Edinburgh.

In addition, Action is a member of the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) Psychoeducation Task Force of the Psychiatry Commission and a WHO Topic Expert Group (TEG) member for the mental health gap (mhGAP) – Epilepsy Module. He also contributes to the WHO Taskforce on IGAP Implementation Toolkit Development and is a member of the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM) Epilepsy Standard Outcomes Working Group. At the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), he serves as an advisor for the Epilepsy Pathway Innovation in Africa Project.

As an emerging researcher, Action has authored nine publications to date. He has proven expertise in human rights, policy analysis, research, and technical application. Currently, he is also a member of the UN Spotlight Initiative's Civil Society National Reference Group in Malawi.​​​​
