Douglas Nyankira
Phlebotomist
Douglas Nyankira is a Medical Laboratory Technologist with nearly a decade of experience in both clinical and research settings. Currently serving as a Research Assistant in Phlebotomy, he focuses on collecting biospecimens for various research projects. He is passionate about his role and is eager to continue growing, both professionally and personally, by learning from the diverse and talented team at the institute.
Douglas has gained extensive experience in clinical diagnostics, offering laboratory services in both private and public health sectors, including Shalom Community Hospital and Machakos County Government under the Center for Health Solutions (CHS), supporting HIV and TB programs.
He has also worked as a Field Laboratory Technologist with the Ministry of Health (MOH) under NASCOP, contributing to the Kenya Population-Based HIV Impact Assessment Surveys. Additionally, he served as a Research Assistant at the Centre of Excellence in Women and Child Health at Aga Khan University, where he supported studies such as the PRECISE and PRECISE Dyad projects, which explored factors contributing to maternal and child health complications from early pregnancy through the first three years of life.
