Research Assistant

Judith is an experienced qualitative and quantitative researcher with expertise in supervising research activities, organizing stakeholder engagement meetings, developing study protocols, obtaining ethical approvals, and training field staff. She specializes in various qualitative research methodologies, including focus group discussions, key informant interviews, in-depth interviews, ethnography, transcription, qualitative data analysis, and report writing.

She holds a Diploma in Community Nutrition from Kenya Medical Training College and is registered with the Kenya Nutrition and Dietetics Board. She is currently pursuing a degree in Counseling Psychology at Kenya Methodist University (KeMU) and has completed additional training in Project Management, Good Clinical Practice, and Research Methodology.

Judith supports the UZIMA-DS project, assisting with participant recruitment, data collection, transcription, and ensuring data quality. She has worked with multiple research organizations, including Innovation for Poverty Action as a Field Officer. Much of her research experience, spanning over 15 studies in behavioral and social research, was gained at the African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC), where her contributions have led to successful publications. A pivotal project in her career was the Human Milk Banking (HMB) initiative under the Mother and Child Wellbeing Department, implemented at Pumwani Maternity Hospital—the first of its kind in Kenya and one of the few in Africa.

Judith is passionate about the impact of research in shaping policies and programs that improve lives, particularly for children and young adults. Beyond her professional work, she actively engages in community mentorship programs, supporting young people in their personal growth and development.​
