Victoria Wamukhoma
Consultant, NEUROGAP II

Dr Victoria Wamukhoma is a psychiatrist with over 12 years of experience, primarily in clinical practice and leadership roles, focused on enhancing quality mental health care. She has extensive expertise in planning and overseeing patient care and hospital operations.

She currently serves as the Head of Clinical Services at Mathari Hospital and is a co-investigator in NEURO-GAP II, a study funded by the Broad Institute and Stanley Global Neuropsychiatric Genetics Initiative.

Victoria holds a master’s degree in Psychiatry and a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery, both from the University of Nairobi.

Beyond hospital-based practice, she has contributed to humanitarian efforts, working with the Kenya Red Cross Society and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to support displaced populations in Northeastern Uganda during the Multiagency flood emergency response.

She also played a role in the development of the Kenya Mental Health Policy 2015-2030, contributing to national mental health strategy and policy formulation.​
