Willis Ouma Otiende
Research Assistant
Willis is currently involved in the UZIMA-DS Study, focusing on data collection, analysis, participant engagement and research coordination to ensure the study produces meaningful, evidence-based insights.
He holds a degree in Anthropology from the University of Nairobi and has extensive experience in qualitative and quantitative research through his work at the BMI. Over time, he has developed proficiency in data analysis software, including STATA, SPSS, NVIVO, and REDCap, with expertise in study design, participant recruitment, and health data analysis.
Willis is passionate about global mental health and public health, aiming to leverage research and technology to develop scalable solutions for health challenges in Africa. His work is driven by a commitment to contributing to policies and interventions that foster sustainable impact. His research interests include mental health, public health, and medical anthropology.
Beyond research, Willis is an avid writer and poet who enjoys literature.
