Introduction and Aims
Paediatric Critical Care Medicine is a complex and demanding field that requires healthcare providers to have a thorough understanding of managing critically ill children. Simulation-based training is becoming increasingly popular in healthcare education as it allows learners to practice skills and decision-making in a safe environment. The Paediatric Critical Care Simulation Series aims to provide healthcare providers with a comprehensive and practical approach to managing critically ill children, while emphasizing the importance of simulation-based training and effective teamwork.
This series is being organised by the Department of Pediatrics and Child Health in partnership with CIME.
Learning Outcomes
Understand the basics of simulation in healthcare.
Manage a critically ill child in a simulated scenario.
Evaluate human factors (Effective team dynamics and communication) during a simulated scenario.
Course Features
Within the technology enhanced learning environments of CIME, participants will learn through hands-on practice on simulators. Extensive time on 'Skills Stations' will enhance skills acquisition.
Who should attend?
All paediatric residents, fellows & consultants.
Credit Hours
10 ACCME Credit Hours will be awarded upon completion of the course.
