Dr Rida-e-Maria Qazi holds a PhD in Molecular Medicine from Dr Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS)​, University ​​of Karachi, Pakistan. ​During her doctoral research, she used tissue engineering strategies to study the role of transcription regulators in enhancing cardiac regeneration. ​She joined AKU-CRM in 2022 as a research associate under HEC's Grand Challenge Fund project.  Later on, she started her postdoctoral fellowship in 2023 under the Wellcome Leap-funded project that aims to develop gene editing therapies for β-thalassemia and sickle cell anemia. ​​Currently, she serves as senior instructor​ at CRM, where she is interested in developing cell-free and genetic modification-based therapeutic strategies, including stem cell–derived exosomes for degenerative diseases and engineered targeted delivery platforms for gene editing applications.​​​​
