Dr Rida-e-Maria Qazi specializes in stem cell-based cardiovascular regeneration. She holds a PhD in Molecular Medicine from Dr Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, Pakistan. Her research interest lies in developing stem cell based therapeutic approaches for the regeneration of damaged tissues. She joined AKU-CRM in 2022 as a research associate under Grand Challenge Fund project. Later on, she started her postdoctoral fellowship in 2023 under Wellcome Leap funded project that aims to develop gene editing therapies for β-thalassemia and sickle cell anemia. As part of this project, she is leveraging her efforts in developing the targeted delivery vehicles for gene editing tools.
