Dr Rida-e-Maria Qazi specializes in stem cell-based cardiovascular regeneration. She holds a PhD in Molecular Medicine from Dr Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS)​, University ​​of Karachi, Pakistan.  Her research interest lies in developing stem cell based therapeutic approaches for the regeneration of damaged tissues​​. She joined AKU-CRM in 2022 as a research associate under Grand Challenge Fund project.  Later on, she started her postdoctoral fellowship in 2023 under Wellcome Leap funded project that aims to develop gene editing therapies for β-thalassemia and sickle cell anemia. ​​As part of this project, she is ​leveraging her efforts in developing the targeted delivery vehicles for gene editing tools.
