​About

Falah is a student-run social welfare organization that was founded in 1994 by medical students at AKU to provide finances and medication to provide assistance, financial or otherwise, to deserving needy patients at the affiliated hospital. The organization exists to address the needs of less affording and socially marginalized patients that present at or undergo treatment at AKUH, specifically working with patients in need for short term or long term stable support.​. It was officially registered with the Sindh Government as a non-profit organization in 2004. ​​

​​Major Events ​

Our mission, vision and strategic objectives highlight the values and ethos of the society​ and defines all our activities. 

Blood Drive: A student run initiative in collaboration with the AKU Blood Bank. Student, faculty and staff members from the Aga Khan University Hospital, come together and donate blood, which is then utilized by the AKU Blood Bank when requests for Blood transfusions arrive.

​Bake Sale: A student fundraising drive with various food stalls and freshly baked items are kept for sale. The proceeds from the bake sale are typically used to support charitable endeavours or initiatives within the AKU community or beyond. Moreover, students set up game stalls and other fun activities for entertainment and generating funds. This is generally organised in March/April every year.

Bonfire: An AKU community event encompassing the whole student body to indulge in a bonfire event. Students set up their stalls, promote their small-scale businesses and​ come together to spend a wholesome evening. Special costume theme is decided and a dance off amongst the batches takes place. All the proceedings go towards financing Falah’s welfare activities.

Carnvival: A fundraising event organized by Falah Finance consisting of various rides, games, and food stalls. The proceeds from the event go towards financing Falah’s welfare activities.
