Immunisation Policy
In the interest of student’s safety and health, all students involved with direct patient care are required to have themselves immunised. Pre-entrance physical examination package will not include charges for immunisation (students will be charged seperately).
In cases where immunisations are carried out elsewhere, students must produce a valid, certificate which is acceptable to the Student Health Physician.

Tetanus / Diphtheria (DPT)
Oral Poliovirus vaccines (OPV)
Hepatitis B
Varicella (Chicken Pox)
Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR)
Influenza
COVID-19
Please note:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria and OPV vaccinations will be considered complete if the student produces a valid certificate acceptable to the student health physician.
- Students will be required to receive Hepatitis B and Varicella vaccine if their antibodies test results are negative.
- MMR vaccination at the time of admission is mandatory, regardless of the previous history of vaccination, unless contraindicated.
- Students who default on the immunisation plan will not be allowed to attend classes and clinical rotations.
Requirements for students in non-clinical programs
Students at the Institute for Educational Development (IED) and those attending graduate programs in the Medical College (Masters in Health Policy and Management, and Masters in Epidemiology and Biostatistics) will be encouraged to take vaccines other than mandatory vaccines where appropriate.
