Aziz Jiwani, MBBS, FCPS, PhD is Assistant Professor in the Family Medicine department. He currently chairs Student Health and is Director of the Global Physician Program (GPP) at AKU. His primary responsibility is that of a clinical educator, through which he is involved in the teaching of clinical skills to third and fifth year medical students.
Dr Samar Zaki is part-time faculty member in the department of Family Medicine and the Student Health Physician. She has also been Coordinator of the First Year Clinical Skills Sessions since the last 15 years. Her areas of special interest include student physical and mental health, and common endocrine illnesses in young females.
Dr Zaki is an AKU alumna, having completed her MBBS and post-graduate training in Family Medicine from AKU, before receiving the Burki Gold Medal for her FCPS in Family Medicine in 2003.
Dr Wahid Haroon is Senior Medical Officer in the department of Family Medicine, a Medevac Physician and has been Student Health Physician since 2019. He holds special interest in diabetes, teaching of clinical skills teaching and patient counselling.
Dr Haroon completed his MBBS from Sindh Medical College Karachi in 1994, his post graduate diploma in Diabetes & Endocrinology from Baqai Medical University in 2006, and MCPS in Family Medicine in 2016.
Noorjhan Momin is a Registered Nurse (RN) and since 2016 has been full-time Student Health Nurse, dedicated to dealing with student health concerns. She has been a part of the Community Health Centre (CHC) since 2012 and in the past has been a Registered Nurse at a surgical unit at AKU for four years.
Noorjhan is an AKU alumna, having completed her Diploma in Nursing in 1997 and Post RN BScN in 2012 from the School of Nursing and Midwifery (SONAM) at AKU.
Sania Nawaz is the Student Health Nurse in the Community Health Center. She is an AKU alumna, having completed her BScN from the School of Nursing and Midwifery (SONAM) at AKU in 2018.
Nadia Sultan has been part of the Family Medicine department since 2016, providing administrative and technical support related to the Student Health team. Her responsibilities include preparing and maintaining daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports; including on the Sehat app, COVID-19 positive students, students’ hotline services and ADR reports of post COVID-19 vaccine symptoms.
In her free time, Nadia enjoys gardening and spending time with her aquarium fish, appreciating the feeling of calm and the beauty of silence that these activities create.
She holds a Masters in International Relations from University of Karachi and is currently enrolled in the MBA programme at Iqra University.
