Interim Chief Facilities and Administrative Officer & Chief Operating Officer, FMIC-Afghanistan

Aziz Ahmad Jan currently serves as the Interim Chief Facilities & Administrative Officer at Aga Khan University Karachi Pakistan and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the French Medical Institute for Mothers and Children (FMIC), Afghanistan.

In his role at the Aga Khan University (AKU), Aziz provides strategic oversight and operational management for Facilities and Administrative Services in Pakistan. His responsibilities include leading the Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Division, Facilities Management Division, and the Design, Engineering, Project & Construction Management Office. Additionally, he oversees key administrative functions such as the Sports & Rehabilitation Centre and Housing Services. Alongside these responsibilities, he continues to lead FMIC, ensuring its sustained growth and impact.

With over 35 years of leadership experience in both clinical and non-clinical functions, Aziz has been instrumental in FMIC's transformation. Under his leadership, FMIC has expanded significantly, and he has played a pivotal role in planning the Expanded Medical Complex in Kabul. 

Before joining FMIC, Aziz served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Shifa International Hospitals Ltd, where he spearheaded major procurement initiatives, high-value negotiations, and administrative reforms, driving operational efficiency and service excellence. He also spent over 14 years with Aga Khan Health Services, Pakistan, as General Manager, overseeing the management of primary and secondary care hospitals.

Aziz holds a Master's degree in Health Management from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, and has been actively contributing to the healthcare sector since 1990.
