Dr David Naylor
From
2005 to 2013, Dr Naylor was President of the University of Toronto, where he
was previously Dean of Medicine and Vice Provost for Relations with Health Care
Institutions. He received his MD from the University of Toronto and DPhil in
the Faculty of Social and Administrative Studies at Oxford University, where he
studied as a Rhodes Scholar. He is the co-author of approximately 300 scholarly
publications. He has been a high-level policy advisor to governments in Canada
and abroad for 25 years, and is the recipient of various national and
international awards for excellence in research and leadership. He was
appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2006. He is the recipient of the 2018 Henry G. Friesen International Prize in Health Research. He joined the AKU Board in
2013.
